Here are some examples of the classroom games, which the students can play as group in the class. Math Jeopardy is a game that can be played by two groups of students in the class. It requires a white board or a chalkboard. The teacher can act as the master of ceremonies who put the questions to the teams. The class should be divided into a group of two teams. The questions asked can be about the various categories in the math subject. The first team to answer the questions should be selected by the flip of a coin. A team member is selected by the team to work out the problem in the chalkboard. Clues can be given by the team members to help the teammate. If a member solves the problem, then the team will get four points. If a wrong advice from the opposite team results in an error, then it is considered as a foul.
The master of ceremonies, i.e. teacher should keep a scorecard for the teams. Buzz is another favorite counting game that can be played in the classroom. Players will sit in a circle and count from one. If any player has to count seven or multiples of seven, then they have to say, “Buzz” instead of the number. A player who fails to say, “Buzz” at the appropriate time will be out. This game helps the students to gain mathematical skills. Like these there are different kinds of games the students can play in the classroom with the help of a teacher or independently. The innovativeness of teachers will really make studying math an enjoyable task for the students.
